Grants from £10,000 to £100,000
Transition funding is available to UK organisations that want to achieve significant strategic change in order to become more resilient and sustain improved management of heritage for the long term. This can be through acquiring new skills or knowledge, or new models of governance, leadership, business and income-generation.
There are no application deadlines for this programme – apply anytime. Your application will be discussed at a monthly advisory meeting at your local Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) office.

Heritage Lottery Fund’s First World War small grants programme
An additional fund of £6 million is available to enable young people working in their communities to explore, conserve and share local heritage of the First World War.
The programme will run over six years from 2013 and forms part of the Government’s Centenary programme. You can find out more on the HLF website.

Wellcome Trust – Research resources
Research resources – programme which provides funding for cataloguing, preservation, digitisation, and so on, of archives and books. The programme defines the history of medicine quite broadly and applicants can include mental health and wellbeing type projects.
